August 31 Salem Hills Freshman LOSS Varsity WIN
September 7 @ Wasatch Freshman: cancelled due to lightning and rain Varsity LOSS 26-35
September 14 Park City (homecoming) Freshman WIN 44-6 Varsity WIN 42-13 (Derek's first game back since his injury..he played 5-7 plays and did well!!! Tyler and other freshman were ready and waiting to go in at the end of the game, but the clock did not stop (mercy rule) they were sorely disappointed!)
September 21 North Sanpete Freshman WIN 34-21Varsity LOSS (Derek didn't even get in to play, boy was he mad!  The team was playing against the referees as well as the opposing team. Juab played horribly and weren't expected to lose in the first place, too many mistakes!!!)
September 28 Spanish Fork Freshman LOSS 14-29 Varsity LOSS 9-44 (Derek got to play for a few rounds of defense in the second half.  Wish they would sub the starters more to give the whole team a chance to play and improve...as well as rest the starters.  Tyler actually ran on the field to do the last play, but time ran out.  Better than last home game.)
October 5 Payson Freshman WIN 20-12 Varsity LOSS 44-47 Derek no playing time
October 12 @ Delta Freshman WIN 38-24 Tyler got a couple of good tackles Varsity LOSS 34-16 Rainy game, derek no playing time AGAIN
October 17 Carbon (senior night) Freshman WIN 42-13 Tyler played well in Price. Got a sack and made some critical plays on offense and defense. Varsity WIN 50-14 Derek Finally got some real playing time. He actually went in in the first quarter on the kick off team, and did that 5 or 6 times before playing more.  He played receiver and defensive end in the second half.  He got credit for a tackle, he may or may not have made.  He had a pass thrown to him at the 20 yard line, but it was too low.  Tyler got 3 plays at the end of the game as well. I was an excited MOM. There was a sad moment when one of our players was hurt and returned with a serious ankle sprain. Also at the end of the half with 13 seconds left there was a fight.  It is my understanding that after making a Juab touchdown, our player tried to get the ball back to the referee, but hit the opposing team player (quarterback) with the ball. The thought it was on purpose and retaliated.  Then of course our a few on our sideline came to the defense.  It was at least a 20 minute delay while the referees decided what to do.  The end result was to eject only the quarterback from the opposing team. It was chaos. I didn't know if the team would return to the field after halftime.  AT the end of the game, Carbon left the field with a record of 1-9 for the season, and didn't even do the usual good game routine in the middle of the field. I've never seen a team do that. Sad.  Derek was sad to see football over, he even had tears in his eyes before the game when all the seniors were recognized.  He's such a good kid!!!
Playoffs not this year. Season ended with a 5-5;  4-1 non region, 1-4 region.

September 19 @ Richfield 5:30p LOSS
September 22 Beaver 10:30a  WIN  way to end the season.

• The playoffs this year are on Sept 29 and Oct 6. They are only taking the top 4 teams, which at this point is probably not Juab 6th grade:(

The 6th grade team finished in 8th place out of 10 teams.  The kids had a good time, but the coaches hoped for a little better record.   Better luck next year.  The 7th and 8th grade teams made the semifinal round of playoffs this year.
